Bentley OpenUtilities Designer edit sessions can be started from the Windows Start Menu, under Bentley -> Bentley Utilities Designer, or from the desktop shortcut. . A similar shortcut is provided for Bentley OpenUtilities Map and for Bentley OpenUtilities PowerView.

When the application starts, it will display a dialog specifying the DGN file to open and the user workspace to use. The list of available user workspaces is determined by the options chosen during the installation of the product.
